McLeod Vacation 2009

It seems that it is now my responsibility to keep up with our blog since Chad is so busy with getting his master's and with work. I am not a writer which is why I'm on facebook but I'll try not to be too boring.

This year's vacation was in Pigeon Forge. We had a great time even though no one wanted to go to Dixie Stampede except for me. I had the outlet malls and site seeing to keep me busy so I wasn't too sad about it.

Kaitlin is lounging in Uncle Stann's lap while Papa is feeding her her favorite food, ice cream.
We went to a place called Cade's Cove, I think, and we saw all kinds of animals like the horses here.

This deer.
A momma bear....
and her babies.

Here is cousin Christian enjoying riding in the car while not being in his car seat. Don't worry the car wasn't even moving but he thought that it was the best thing ever.

Kaitlin hammin it up. She sure knows how to pose for pictures.
Kaitlin and her some of her cousins, she just loved being around them.

This is an old school and I think that it was used as a church also. There was a picture of the teacher and the class and she looked mean. I am so glad that I never went here especially since they don't have air conditioning.

Here is the youngest McLeod, little Tebow as Chad likes to call him, getting a look at the school.

I'm not sure what she was really doing but it looks like Kaitlin was groovin to some tunes.
Papa and Katie.

This was our cabin. Can you believe it held all 23 of us?

The McLeod clan.

Nana Mac and Aidan.

Last but not least is Katie on Father's Day.

Swimming and Family Time

The day after Piglet's birthday, we went to my Sister's Church in Opelika. Didn't she look pretty?

Here is my cousin's little boy Tebow.

My Uncle and his family came for the Birthday weekend too.
I got a feeling these two little ones are going to be great friends.

Sunday, after church, we took Piglet to her first swimming pool. She was a little hesitant at first, but soon got the hang of it and had a great time. Her Aunt Lynn bought her a little floating tube. It made her day.

My sweet nieces and nephews.

Piglet's First Birthday

Here are the pics from Piglet's first birthday party last weekend.

Piglet had lots of friends show up to join in the fun.

Piglet was such a ham. Always ready for a picture.
Piglet chowed down on some cake.

And then the presents.

Daddy's present to her. It says Little Monstah
Took a few family pictures.
Had to go home and get all of the cake off of her face. Here she is making funny hair with cousin Olivia.

Birthday Time!!!

In a 10 day period, we have all three birthdays for my little family. My Birthday and Momma's are one day apart, and Piglet's is 9 days later. For Momma's Birthday and my birthday, we spent our first weekend away from Piglet. Highlights of the birthday were going to the movies, the Cheesecake Factory (twice), and of course, the Braves game. Special thanks to Granna and Uncle Brian for taking care of her for 4 days.
Kissy did so well at not crying every time she thought about not being with her baby. She only called about once an hour. Not too bad for her first overnight experience away from the monster.
We had a nice view from the left field line. It was a great game. Javier Vasquez pitched for the Braves against the Diamondbacks' Doug Davis. The Braves pulled off a walk-off in the bottom of the 9th.
As much fun as we had, it sure was nice to be home with Piglet. We missed our little girl. Her birthday party was yesterday (May 23). I'll put another post up later with pictures from the party.

Shrimp Festival and More

We took Piglet to the Shrimp festival at Fernandina Beach last weekend. She's getting tired of sitting all the time and is ready to start walking herself.

Happy little baby

The monster loves to be outside. Especially with her Papa

Wouldn't you just love coming home to this every day? That is what I get to do.

Look at those curls

Her favorite toy.

Unfortunately, she's now got a cold. Poor Piglet looks so sad when she is sick.

St Louis

Went to St Louis last week. It was fun but would have been much more fun if Chrissy and Piglet weren't left behind. Here are a few pics.
This was the view out my hotel window at about 6:30 in the morning.
My friend Eric is in seminary at Covenant. He joined me for one of the 3 baseball games I went to. The Cardinals swept the Mets. I always enjoy watching teams from New York lose.
Here is the view from my seats during the first game.
We were right next to St. Louis' bullpen. Piniero warming up the first game of the series.
At the second game, I was about 6 rows back in center field, right behind Ankiel and Beltran.
In the third game, I scalped a ticket that ended up being in Big Mac land. Its an area in the second deck of left field, named after McGwire who used to hit monster home runs up there. Nobody hit anything up there, but Pujols did hit 2 home runs.
The highlight of the trip actually occured on Sunday, the day I got there. I took a tour of Busch stadium and had a awesome time. We went up into the press box where the announcers sit. Also got to go into some of the luxury boxes. It was actually Larusa's box where his friends watch the games. The best part of the tour was going down onto the field and into the dugout. It was a great trip, but as I said, not nearly as fun without the Piglet and her Momma. I'm glad I got to go, but I'm also glad to be home where I belong... with my girls.

Easter Pics (Part 2)

After our first easter egg hunt, we went to Anniston for Easter part 2. It amazes me how things that aren't suppose to be toys are so much fun for Piglet. Take a storage bin for instance. Piglet loved being dragged all over the living room in her little car.

She's pretty good at shopping too.

Piglet's first Easter Basket

This picture was taken Easter morning.

Lots of good presents in her basket.

We also celebrated Piglet's Greatgrandfather's birthday on Easter Sunday

Then the hunting began

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to Piglet's first easter egg hunt this past weekend. She didn't participate, but she did take lots of pictures. Her cousins came over to visit for the weekend. She loves spending time with her cousins.

Her buddy Boom Boom did some hunting.
